Starting in 1970 Robert Gumpertz
gained notoriety as a cartoonist when his work appeared in
Playboy, Penthouse, Paris Match, London’s Punch and the
San Francisco Chronicle. He has lived and worked While his commercial work as a
cartoonist and illustrator was appearing world-wide he began
working on small fine art paintings, drawings and prints. In
the early nineties he started painting full time. With his
love of color and texture the transition from cartoonist to
painter came about naturally.
